ABOUT ME

Creating secular, inclusive ceremonies that honour life’s milestones is deeply important to me. My husband and I didn’t have this choice when we married, and it is my privilege to now offer these meaningful services, as an officiant trained and endorsed by Humanist Canada and registered with the Ontario Registrar. Our family reflects Canada’s rich diversity, including members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, inter-community partnerships, and adoption.

My own mobility challenges have enriched my understanding of accessibility and compassion. We embrace Humanist values of equity, inclusiveness, and reason, celebrating the varied individuals who contribute to Canadian society.

I cherish time spent in nature, whether canoeing or simply soaking in its beauty. As an officiant, I love incorporating nature-based rituals and cultural traditions, crafting personalized ceremonies that are unique and rich in meaning.

LAND
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Nature is a steadfast presence in our lives. We acknowledge that we are on the unceded, traditional territories of the Algonquin Nation. We express gratitude for their stewardship of these lands and recognize our responsibility to honour and protect the land, embracing our role within the web of life.

INCLUSIVITY MATTERS TO US

At JFD Officiant Ceremonies, I am committed to inclusivity and the beauty of diversity in all of our ceremonies. As a Humanist, I welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds, including the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, honouring the unique stories and experiences that make each of us who we are. Our mission is to create meaningful, authentic celebrations that reflect the rich tapestry of our community, ensuring everyone feels valued and respected.

Humanism is a philosophy that is about people and for people. Some values are inclusivity, compassion and equity in all forms. Appreciation of arts, learning and scientific reasoning is encouraged with an emphasis on contributing to improving our communities and making the world a better place.

A Humanist officiant can offer ceremonies that are non religious to mark any significant moment in our lives.
